Abstract
Digitalisation is spreading at high speed in the recent decade where the internet population is nearly reaching 5 billion now. The COVID-19 pandemic has become the major driver of digitalisation in many aspects of our life. Digitalisation is also driven by the availability of high-speed internet connections. In addition, the advancement of disruptive information technology like cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain infrastructure, IoT, big data analytic, to name a few has made Industrial revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) a reality. All of these will make the business landscape change entirely. Digital business is a reality and is becoming dominant in IR 4.0. In general, digital business is the use of digital technologies or systems to improve the efficiency of business processes and the effectiveness of decision making as well as to generate and deliver business value. The five papers in this special issue discuss some aspects of digital business.
